Science is an organized body of knowledge concerning the physical world,both inanimate and animate.It is,in fact, a large collection of facts arranged in the form of rules or laws.Scientists use exact methods to observe and study facts and natural phenomena,and do experiments to form laws of science.The sciences are branches of such knowledge and these are the natural sciences like biology and geology and the physical sciences like physics and chemistry.
Art means a creation or expression of something beautiful in a visual form like painting and sculpture.It also means skill in such creation.The arts are subjects of study,for example,languages,literature,history,political science,etc.in which imaginative and creative skills "are more important than the exact measurement and calculation in science".These are also called the humanities or subjects of study concerned with human culture.
In fact,both the sciences and the arts are required for a full understanding and development of life,"a fulsome growth of life,""a blossoming of human civilization,""a rise in standards of living and enrichment of cultural values."Science helps us to have better doctors and medicines,engineers and buildings and bridges,physicists and nuclear energy,chemists and modern medicines and comforts and luxuries of all kinds and shapes.All our computer work,air journeys,fast road travel,space and interplanetary communication,and so on depend on scientific knowledge,research and advancement.The life that we live is charming and livable because of science.
All our ideas about human rights,democracy,economic development, and cultural advancement depend on our studies and research in the arts.The greatest paintings like those of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo,the most inspiring music likes that of Mozart and Wagner,the most appealing ideas on politics and society like those of Ibn-e-Khaldun,Locke and Rousseau,and all the growth of world literature depend on the arts and humanities.Ideas and Ideals we get in the arts,"the music and the charms of all existence."
