Autism

Autism is a physical disorder of the brain that causes a lifelong development disability.The many different symptoms of autism can occur by themselves or in combination with other conditions such as: mental retardation,blindness,deafness, and epilepsy.Children with autism vary widely in their abilities and behavior.Each symptom may appear differently in each child.Children with autism often show some forms of bizarre,repetitive behavior called stereotyped behavior.

Each child with autism is unique,with their own individual range of symptoms and behaviors.Broad areas of similarity have been identified so that it is now possible to make some basic general statements about what children with autism are like as a group.Some symptoms and characteristics are: failure to develop normal socialization,problems in speech,language, and communication,strange relationships to objects and events,unusual responses to sensory stimulation, and progress delays.

Scientists do not know why some children have autism.Studies have found that people with autism have differences in the structure of their cerebellums.Research is still unclear to be able to draw conclusion to biological and genetic causes.

Scientists have only identified one specific genetic connection with autism.A genetic syndrome called,fragile X syndrome.Fragile X syndrome is a recently discovered form of genetically caused mental retardation.Both sexes are affected by Fragile X syndrome,with males usually more seriously affected.Children with fragile X syndrome can have behavior problems such as:hyperactivity,aggression,self-injury,and autistic-like behaviors.Severe language delays and problems are common.Delayed motor development and poor sensory skills are also disabilities associated with fragile X syndrome.

In the United States,there are at least 400,000 people with autism,about one-third of them are children.Autism is one of the most common developmental disabilities.

For reasons researches do not know,autism occurs about three to four times more frequently in boys than in girls.

For children with more severe cognitive limitations, the ratio is closer to two to one.For the group of children with higher cognitive skills,boys are more frequently represented at a rate greater than four to one.Girls, when affected, are more likely to be more seriously affected by symptoms of autism.

To many experts and parents the number of children with autism seems to be increasing at a faster pace than before.In fact,some recent research studies of the occurrence of autism suggest that it is twice as high as previous studies had indicated.

Fortunately,the understanding of the needs of children is changing just as is the care applied to the diagnostic process.This is leading to better understanding of the importance of tailoring educational,social, and communication involvement to the needs and strengths of children with autism.

When autism was identified in 1943,it was a disorder that was misinterpreted and puzzled most professionals.Since than,studies have given us understanding into autism as a brain based disorder which children are born with.Though no cure has been found to date to treat children with autism,researches are on the brink of discovery one.

Why Education is Important

Many students around the world today focus mainly one thing while they are in school,Career and income,but how do you achieve that?How does one get the career they want and income they yearn?The answer is education several countries are known for their exceptional performance in academics and pressure related to their education.Among those countries are China,India and Japan.These three countries share a lot in common,exceptionally bright students and a very rigorous education system that showers students with pressure from parents to perform exceptional in school.Anita Desai,who is the author of Studies in the Park,shows us how the much education is important in India.Studies in the Park is about a young man named Suno.Suno is ready to apply for college,but before he goes into college,he must pass the entrance exams for his college.Suno undergoes pressure from his parents to study hard and pass the entrance exams.Suno is always reminded from his parents that he expects good results from him and he should just be studying.Suno starts to fed up with all the talks and his loud home,so he tries and finds a a new place to go and study;The Park,At the park he meets other students who are just like him;tired of all the noise at home and fed up from their parents nagging at them to study.Anita Desai's Studies in the Park undoubtly connects with the importance of education worldwide,pressure placed on students for education and the pressure for incentives offered for education globally.Many students are constantly faced with the same problem everyday:Education.Desai showed emphasis on the pressure that students from India face and how expectations rise every year.Desai's story may have been a replica of her very own young life because she focused on one's own belief in education and freedom to choose for one's own future career.

Students that are living in highly populated countries understand the importance of education far greater than students that are living in countries with extra amenities and a lot of neighborhoods.In Desai's Studies in the park,the main character Suno was always told by his parents that education was thought that Suno's parents had is very similar to Obama's thoughts.On September 8,2009 Obama gave a special speech at the Wakefield High School located in Arlington,VA.In the speech Obama mentioned that education will always be need regardless of what we wish to do in life after school.Many students today start to understand the importance of education when they are in their junior or senior year of High School.According to a College View many students start to question themselves why a college education is important for them, and why furthering their education will benefit them.After they find the answer to their question they start to find opportunities for a college education.Education is not just important to students,but also for lawmakers and professors.Education has proven to make an individual a better person in life and more successful than someone who has limited education.

Imagine a world without schools and colleges!Impossible,right?No matter how much we hate waking up early for school or studying all night for those tests and exams,we all know that education is very important.Now,I ma not saying that an uneducated man has no chance of being successful or an uneducated man will surely do well in life.Exceptions are always there.However most of us will agree that an educated person gets better opportunities in life.It is easier for him to become successful and realize his dreams as compared to someone who is uneducated.Other than success and economic prosperity,there are various other reasons why education is almost necessity in today's world.
