Good & Bad Manners

<br /> Read Good and Bad Manners<br />

The manners and habits of a person tell a lot about his personality. We often form our opinion of a person after meeting him and observing his manners.

People like person having good and pleasing manners. They like his behavior.Such a person talks, behaves and meets others in a sweet way.Firstly,he greets other people who are older than he,or are known to him.He shows proper respect to his elders.

A good mannered person tries his best not to injure the feelings of other. He never makes a show of his ability or learning or wealth to make others feel lowly. He does not mind the faults of others. He knows that all human beings make mistakes and have their weaknesses. So if a person displeases or trouble shim,he does not get angry.

Good manners like the ones described above make real friendship and love possible.Friendship and love between two or more people will continue long if they are well behaved.Good manners make co-operation possible. If the people at a place behave well and are helpful to each other, they can co-operate in all possible ways.

People do not like a person with bad manners. They dislike his behavior, his way of talking or meeting others.Such a person displeases others with his manners and habits. He does not properly entertain them.At his place of work,he does not receive visitors in a pleasant way.He does not listen well to them and does not satisfy them with his replies.

An ill-mannered person is often proud in his behavior. He makes a show of the things that he possesses or of his knowledge. He doe snot have patience for the faults of others, and gets angry very soon.

Bad-mannered people cannot continue to be friends for long. They mind each other's faults and begin disliking each other sooner or later. They do not like to help others in difficulty,as they are selfish.

It is our benefit to have pleasant manners.Others will like us and our company the more for our attractive manners. We should try to give up repelling manners and ways.

The Role of Films

<br /> The role of Film<br />

All manner of people like to see films.Rich and poor people, students, laborers, workers in different fields of life, women who stay in their homes, and even children desire it.TVs,CD and DVD players, and VCRs have made it possible for many to watch films,or their choice.

The first great role of films is to entertain the people in the best possible ways.Films should have really good and artistic stories, dialogues, music and dances. It should be the effort of film producers and directors to make such films as offer entertainment of a higher order.

The second great role of film sis to teach good lessons of life.Film should teach us through good stories how we can live nobly and well. They should tell us about different social problems and about the ways of resolving them. They should, whenever and wherever possible,"hold the mirror up" to our society.

The third great role of films is to promote national unity and integrity. They can do this by making their national duties and responsibilities clear to people. They should present stories and events about patriotism or love for the country. They should describe the life of the people of all the provinces.

The fourth great role of films in our life s educational.Films in foreign countries on science subjects like physics, chemistry and biology are very beneficial. There films produced on the arts like music, painting and literature are also greatly useful. In our chemistry, too, film on the sciences and arts should be produced for purely educational purposes.Films on javascript:void(0);historical events and wars also increase our knowledge a great deal.

We should try to make the best use of our film industry. We should make it really beneficial to the people.

Film has a uniquely powerful ubiquity within human culture. In 2009,across major territories, there were over 6.8 billion cinema admissions creating global box office revenues of over US$ 30 billion. The convergent nature of film creates consumption across a number of channels. In the same year combined DVD and Blu-Ray sales in the United States,Canada and European Union alone were Us$ 32.5 billion. When you start to then consider revenues and audience figures from those who consume digitally, via television, repeat view content they already own and view through the highly illegal but vast black-market in films, the figures become truly staggering.

The direct economic impact of film is clear, but the effect to the wider economy is also significant. The UK House of Commons Culture,Media nad Sport Committee- is a 2002 report on The British Film Industry stated,...Of the 23 million people who visited the UK in 2001-spending approximately 11.3 billion Euro-Visit Britain estimates that approximately 20 % visited the UK because of the way it is portrayed in films or on television. The flow-on effect from film is thought to be that for every 1 Euro spent on film, there is a 1.5 Euro benefit to the economy.

The Mass Media

<br /> An essay for BSC students<br />

Media=sing/pl. the main ways that large numbers of people receive information and entertainment.
The mass media sources of information and news such as newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and the Internet that reach and influence large numbers.

The mass media mean sources of information, news and entertainment which are newspapers, magazines, radio and television, and now the internet. These media provide information, news and entertainment to the masses(all kinds of common people). It means that they disseminate information and entertainment on a wide scale. They manipulate people, which is the subject of much research and discussion today.

Workers, professionals, educated rich people and all other-men,women and children everywhere-are within the range and influence of the mass media. And,conversely, all manner of knowledge is within the reach the mass media like hungry flocks approaching "pastures new."

Perhaps more than the print media, the audio-visual media are easily accessible for having effortless pleasures. The radio and television bring to everyone, whether literate or illiterate, the pleasure of music, songs, dances, drama, films and scenes of social and natural life. They open to us the doors of our own cultural life in all the provinces and in all parts of other countries. We are lost in the world of art and reality as we watch movies of love and art from different countries, most of them dubbed in English. With our understanding of this great language,we understand readily what is happening in China and Japan,Germany and Switzerland,America and Canada,Egypt and Nigeria,Australia and Philippines, and everywhere in every clime. We learned through the mass media what is happening in education, politics, industry, agriculture, trade, sports, war, the criminal sphere, and all other spheres under the sun. This is the international information and cultural revolution that has been brought about by the radio, television, and the Internet, and which is growing or expanding day after day.

The internet is the latest addition to the mass media. It is a network connecting millions of computer network sin the world.Through it we get connected to the official, educational, commercial, social, political and other fields of activity and thought the world.

However, newspapers, magazines, radio and TV,together with the Internet, can be made use of positively as well as negatively. They can develop our minds and character as well as distort them when they present to us scenes of corruption and evil doings. However, through their harmless entertainment they can keep us happy, satisfied and hopeful as well as well informed.Who would not like to work and struggle for high aims if he is inwardly satisfied and happy?

The mass media can make us wiser and more knowledgeable with the passage of time.As we gather knowledge through them in different fields, our point of view or attitude towards life or outlook on life becomes universal and we begin feeling that we are citizens of the world.
